Dear Colleagues,
As many of you know Debbie is off on a long-awaited travel adventure around the globe in January for six months. To help support the team while Debbie is away we have hired Carol Cheuk to fill in the Development Coordinator role.
Carol has a BSc in Physical Geography from SFU followed by several years of working as a GIS Analyst. However, Carol decided she preferred connecting with people over computers so after receiving training from Northwestern and IE Business School has spent the last 9 years as a marketing and communications strategist. She has led and implemented various public relations and integrated marketing campaigns and organized small boutique events all the way up to conferences for 3,000 participants. Between 2013 and 2019 Carol was a Senior Account Manager for Digi3 Studio in Hong Kong. After which she returned to Canada with her family and set up a natural foods company called Sveet Eats.
Carol is joining us on Monday 5th December to overlap with Debbie for a few weeks of job shadowing. Carol can be reached at carol.cheuk@ubc.ca and will be sitting in the DAE office area. Thank you all in advance for helping Carol feel welcome and helping her navigate UBC and the Faculty!
