Colleagues,

I’m thrilled to announce that Emma Tully has been promoted to the role of Assistant Dean, Development, Alumni and External Relations!

In addition to continuing the important work that Emma has been doing managing our fundraising and alumni engagement efforts, she will now also manage the communications and marketing functions in the Faculty of Forestry.

Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) is a portfolio that runs across campus and raises approximately $220 million per year for students, research, teaching, and capital projects and plans and executes initiatives to engage and build community with UBC’s 375,000 alumni around the globe.  The Forestry DAE Team focuses on priority needs of the Faculty to ensure we have the resources needed to meet our strategic goals through engaging our alumni community, philanthropists, grant-making foundations, corporations, and associations.  The Faculty’s Communications and Marketing team has been combined into this expanded portfolio of Development, Alumni and External Relations to take advantage of strategic alignment of the Faculty’s messaging to the community, both within and outside of UBC, as we ramp up to the public launch of UBC’s Campaign to raise $3 billion and double alumni engagement by 2029.

Please join me in congratulating Emma on this well-deserved promotion to lead both of these outstanding units within our Faculty.

All the best,

Rob
