Guangyu Wang and Chunyu Pan to Represent UBC Forestry at the Upcoming COP28 in Dubai, UAE

UBC Forestry is set to make an impact in our first-ever appearance at the upcoming COP28 in Dubai in an associated event called ‘Global Knowledge Exchange and New Skills of NbS about Forestry Power to Mitigate Climate Change,’ featuring Dr. Guangyu Wang and PhD student Chunyu Pan.

MSFM Site Plan Defense Announcement

Four teams in the Master of Sustainable Forest Management Program will present their final SitePlan Defenses on Friday December 1, 2023 at CAWP 2916 Caseroom or via Zoom. The defenses will be one hour each, including a 20-minute presentation followed by 40 minutes of questions and discussion. The focus of this year’s Site Plan projects will be Block K19 at the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest.

New Program Director in FRM / FOPS: Andrés Varhola

Andrés Varhola will be assuming the role of Program Director for the Forest Resources Management and Forest Operations undergraduate programs for a 5-year term.  He takes over from Dominik Roeser, who is now the Associate Dean, Research Forests & Community Outreach.
